DESCRIPTION

Overseeing the movement of all lifting operations on a construction site ensuring team safety and effectiveness, the Crane Supervisor is responsible for supervising safe lifting operations and following the lift plan prepared by the Appointed Person.

This NOCN CSkills Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations – Supervising Lifts (Construction) qualification enables delegates to upgrade their CPCS or NPORS-CSCS trained operator card with an NVQ Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations, certifying competence as a Crane Supervisor.

The qualification enables delegates to show they are a competent operator.

SPECIFICATIONS

Delegates taking this Level 4 Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations – Supervising Lifts will cover knowledge, skills and practices to learn the fundamentals of lifting and crane supervision in the construction sector.

Mandatory Units – must achieve all eight

Develop and maintain good working relationships
Supervise lifting activities
Maintain systems for health, safety, welfare and environmental protection
Coordinate work control
Allocate and monitor the use of plant, equipment or machinery
Maintain dimensional accuracy of the work
Coordinate preparation for site operations
Allocate work and check employee performance

Upon successfully completing this qualification, delegates will have the skills, knowledge, understanding, and competence to progress to a higher-level qualification in the same or similar occupational area.

The awarding body is NOCN CSkills who are recognised as industry leaders in the construction industry. As a result of completing the NVQ Level 2 in Controlling Lifting Operations – Supervising Lifts (Construction) delegates can upskill to the Blue Competent Operator Card.
