➢ Have a basic understanding of the port industry, the dangers of working in a port and their responsibilities in order to work safely when within the port environment
➢ Have a basic understanding of Port Industry Legislation, Policies and Procedures, including relevant risk assessments and traffic management systems
➢ Be able to work safely with, and identify various cargoes including dangerous cargoes and their classifications
➢ Be able to work safely near water
➢ Be able to work safely when alone
➢ Be able to work safely at height
➢ Be able to work safely in confined spaces
➢ Be able to maintain security in ports
➢ Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for use in the port environment
