Training covers passenger safety, vehicle handling, route planning and legal responsibilities to ensure you’re fully prepared for professional coach driving. Requirements

  • Full Category B (car) licence — this is the starting point for all PCV training

  • Minimum age of 18 or 21 (depending on the route, employer requirements, and CPC regulations)

  • Medical examination to confirm fitness to drive passenger vehicles to DVLA standards

  • Provisional PCV entitlement added to your licence

  • PCV theory tests, including multiple-choice and hazard perception

  • Driver CPC qualification if driving professionally for hire or reward

  • Practical training and test in a Category D coach

Once qualified, you’ll be legally able to drive full-sized coaches and passenger vehicles for work, tourism, public transport, private hire, and more.
