Want to skip a step? Our Direct Access Class 1 HGV course is your fast track to a career on the road.
Normally, you’d need to get a Class 2 licence first. Our course removes that requirement, so you can start directly
on training for the largest articulated vehicles (up to 44 tonnes). This saves you significant time and money from day one.
With our experienced instructors and modern trucks, we’ll prepare you thoroughly for both the theory and practical DVSA tests.
It’s the most efficient way to earn your Class 1 licence and unlock a wide range of opportunities in the transport and logistics industry.

Description

Cat D1+E training allows you to drive a minibus with up to 16 passenger seats while towing a trailer over 750kg, giving you additional carrying capacity for equipment, luggage or specialist transport needs. This licence is ideal for organisations such as schools, charities, outdoor activity centres and private hire operators that require both passenger movement and trailer use. With Cat D1+E, you gain the skills and entitlement to handle a minibus-and-trailer combination safely, confidently and in line with regulatory requirements. We can help you achieve this licence!

Requirements

To obtain a D1+E licence, you first need to hold a full Category D1 minibus entitlement. Once you have this, you can apply to add the +E trailer category by completing a medical, gaining provisional entitlement, and passing the required PCV theory tests (if not already completed). After that, you’ll undertake practical training in a minibus-and-trailer combination to prepare for your driving test. If you plan to drive professionally for hire or reward, you’ll also need a Driver CPC qualification.
