3D GPS Machine Control System

A 3D GPS Machine Control System is a technology platform that allows heavy construction equipment (bulldozers, graders, excavators) to position themselves with centimeter-level accuracy and move earth according to a digital design file—without the need for physical stakes, grade checkers, or surveyors on the ground.

Instead of an operator looking at a map on a screen and guessing, the machine automatically knows exactly where the blade or bucket is in space and moves it to the exact elevation required by the architect’s model.

➢ Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a plant operator
➢ Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular 3D GPS Control System to be used
➢ Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
➢ Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with the manufacturer and legislative requirements
➢ Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for machine and 3D GPS Control System
➢ Prepare and set up 3D GPS Control System for use and operate safely and efficiently
➢ Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
➢ Environmental considerations
➢ Manoeuvre the machine to the work area and correctly configure in readiness to carry out tasks
➢ Conduct predetermined tasks applicable to the machine
➢ Storage and transport of implements and attachments
➢ Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
