      Description

      Course Overview

A Fire Warden (or Fire Marshal) is the first line of defense in a fire emergency. This half-day intensive course is designed for managers, supervisors, and any staff member appointed to oversee fire safety duties.

Training at our centre bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world emergency response. Candidates will learn how to identify common workplace fire hazards, conduct vital safety checks, and lead safe evacuations. The course heavily emphasizes the legal responsibilities of the employer and the specific duties of the warden in liaising with fire services and maintaining life-saving equipment.

      What You Will Learn

      • Fire Safety Principles: Understanding the chemistry of fire, how it starts, and how it spreads through a building.

      • Legal Responsibilities: Grasping the Health & Safety at Work Act and employer duties regarding fire safety equipment and training.

      • Risk Assessment: Identifying common fire hazards such as electrical faults, arson, and naked flames.

      • Extinguishing Methods: Understanding the different types of extinguishers and the correct "means of extinguishing" for various fire classes.

      • The Warden's Role: Executing day-to-day safety checks, coordinating fire drills, and assisting in safe evacuations.

      • Emergency Procedures: Mastering means of escape, alarm raising, and liaison with the Fire Service.
