The Dozer is the ultimate earthmoving machine, essential for major muck-shifting, site levelling, and embankment construction. However, its immense power and weight require an operator with high technical skill and a deep understanding of machine stability. Our NPORS Dozer (N215) course provides comprehensive training to ensure operators can safely manoeuvre, excavate, and grade material while maintaining strict compliance with health and safety legislation.

Description
Course Overview
Operating a dozer involves much more than just pushing material from A to B. It requires precision control of the blade to achieve specific grades and an understanding of ground-bearing pressures to prevent the machine from tipping or becoming bogged down.
This intensive course covers everything from basic machine familiarization to advanced earthmoving tasks. Candidates will learn how to conduct rigorous pre-operational checks, safely travel across varying terrains and steep inclines, and perform precise leveling and spreading tasks. The training also emphasizes the management of underground and overhead services, as well as the environmental considerations involved in large-scale earthworks.
What You Will Learn
Upon successful completion, candidates will be competent in:
Machine Mechanics: Identifying major components, power units, track systems, and blade configurations.
Pre-Operational Safety: Conducting statutory daily inspections of hydraulics, engine fluids, and track tension.
Maneuvering & Travel: Safely traveling the dozer over rough ground, navigating steep inclines, and managing the machine in confined areas.
Earthmoving Tasks: Setting the blade for dozing, spreading, and leveling material to given site specifications.
Attachment Management: Safely attaching, setting, and storing trailed or mounted implements and attachments.
Hazard Awareness: Identifying and avoiding underground services, overhead lines, and other site personnel.
Transportation: Understanding the complex procedures for safely loading and unloading the dozer for machine transport.
Course Durations & Eligibility
Novice Duration: 10 Days (Designed for those with little to no experience).
Existing Untrained Operator: 3 Days.
Refresher Duration: 1 Day.
Class Ratio: Maximum 3 Learners : 1 Instructor : 1 Machine.
Testing & Certification
Candidates must pass a theoretical multiple-choice exam (80% pass mark) and a rigorous practical assessment. The practical test requires candidates to demonstrate safe setup, controlled material movement, and the ability to level a designated area within specified tolerances.
Upon successful completion, candidates will receive an NPORS card/certificate endorsing them for Dozer (N215).
