COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Objectives for N045 Safe Use of Mobile Loading Ramps
➢ Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities
➢ Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular mobile loading ramp to be used
➢ Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for the use of the mobile loading ramp
➢ Defect reporting procedures
➢ Environmental considerations
➢ Be able to locate and identify major components of the mobile loading ramp and explain their functions
➢ Have a good understanding of approved hand signals and different forms of communication
➢ Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements
➢ Conduct all necessary checks of the working area
➢ Select a mobile loading ramp that is suitable for the task and vehicle / container
➢ Configure the mobile loading ramp for travel and manoeuvre it safely with the use of a banksman
➢ Manoeuvring the mobile loading ramp to the work area and configure in readiness to secure to a vehicle / container
➢ Secure mobile loading ramp to vehicle / container for efficient and safe use
➢ Detaching the mobile loading ramp from the vehicle / container and correctly store ramp and accessories
➢ Carry out end of work inspections and shutdown procedures
