Abrasive Wheels Hand Held Cut off Saw

A circular saw is a power-saw tool designed for cutting various materials using a toothed or abrasive disc (blade). The blade is a flat, steel disk with sharp teeth on its edge, which spins rapidly to slice through the material. While it is most commonly associated with carpentry and woodworking (cutting lumber, plywood, MDF), specific blades allow it to cut masonry, plastic, and metal.

Circular Saw

➢ Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator
➢ Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used
➢ Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
➢ Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
➢ Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
➢ Select suitable type of machine relative to the work being undertaken
➢ Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for circular saw use
➢ Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work areas
➢ Operate machinery safely and efficiently
➢ Environmental considerations
➢ Storage and transport of circular saw
➢ Disposal of cut materials
➢ Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
